The second downtown shooting on Monday left one guy de@d and another in the hospital, according to the Louisville Metro Police Department.
According to LMPD spokesman Aaron Ellis, the second incident was reported at Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC) at 8th and Chestnut Streets around 11 a.m.
1 Killed, 1 Injured In A Shooting Outside JCTC Building In Downtown Louisville
According to LMPD, the gunshot occurred outside, and the suspect escaped before the police arrived.
Outside the scene, police discovered two adults who had been shot. A woman was sent to University Hospital with unspecified injuries, while one man was pronounced de@d at the site.
To ensure there were no further victims or dangers inside the facility, the campus of JCTC was thoroughly searched.

Authorities have stated that there is no active shooter danger at JCTC. Nothing is known about the suspect.
Campuses have been closed for the day, according to JCTC, and the incident happened outside a campus facility.

“All Jefferson Campuses are clear and closed for the day out of respect for those involved in shootings that have occurred today in our City.
We can confirm there was a shooting OUTSIDE of the Technical Campus Building A, and there is no active aggressor on our campuses. All Jefferson campuses are clear with the exception of the Technical Campus, which will remain on lockdown due to police protocol.
When more information is available, we will provide it.”
