The Galaxy Watch 5 is scheduled to be released by Samsung later this year, but is there a definite date for its release? This year’s Galaxy Watch 4 range will be replaced by the Galaxy Watch 5 series. Support for skin temperature readings is likely to be included in the upcoming series. To address the Galaxy Watch 4’s low battery life, reports claim that the next watches will have a huge battery boost over their predecessors.
Despite all the additional features, a beloved Galaxy Watch 4 feature may be removed from the Galaxy Watch 5 series. There will be no rotating bezel in any of the future Galaxy Watch 5 models according to sources, which suggests that the upcoming lineup will be a ‘Pro’ model. Disappointment has set in among purchasers who were eagerly awaiting the release of the new products, with many indicating they would rather buy an older model or move to a different brand. However, Samsung has yet to provide a formal statement on this matter.
Galaxy Watch 5 Launch date
In the past, the Samsung Galaxy Watch has been released in August. Instead of a straight successor to the Galaxy Watch, Samsung gave us the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in 2019. In 2020, Samsung, on the other hand, will bring the Galaxy Watch 3 back to the August launch date it used to use.
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 is expected to follow suit in August of this year. As a result, the device is likely only a few months away, and more significantly, it will beat the highly anticipated Pixel Watch to the wrists of its owners.

Galaxy Watch 5 Design
In our opinion, Samsung’s two-tiered strategy for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic was brilliantly implemented. Fortunately, there have been leaks suggesting that the following generation would have a wide range of models as well. Until now, details have been hazy, with early speculations claiming that two to three versions are in the works.
Originally, SamMobile predicted that the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 would offer two models: the Galaxy Watch 5 and the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro, doing away with the Classic edition of the line. A little more than two weeks later, GalaxyClub published their revelation that Samsung is working on three different variants of the smartphone under different iterations of the code name “Heart.” There is a 40mm or 42mm variant, a bigger 44mm or 46mm version, and a smaller single-sized version with the model number SM-R90x. There appears to be a Pro model as well as two other models in the works, based on these programmed projects.
According to the latest beta version of Samsung’s Health app, the Galaxy Watch 5 and Watch 5 Pro devices are now supported. There was no mention of a Classic model in this update, which indicates that Samsung may have decided to forgo it this time. Alternatively, Samsung may have overlooked the support for the Galaxy Watch 5 Classic by accident.

Even though little is known about what makes the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro “pro,” we can only expect for upmarket design elements and premium materials similar to those found on the 4 Classic. According to early reports, the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro features a substantially larger battery, but this has not yet been confirmed by the company.
Evleaks, the Twitter handle of Evan Blass, may be able to shed more light on the situation. In a recent leak from Blass, the codenames we described above and the proper names for the possible Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 line-up were included. Each model’s colour scheme is also suggested.
Silver or graphite are the available colours for the Galaxy Watch 5, which comes in small and big versions nicknamed Heart-S and Heart-L. A pink gold version of the Heart-S, the compact model, appears to be in the works. Heart-L, or big model, is expected to come in Sapphire. Finally, a “Project X” Pro model will be offered in grey or black titanium, both of which are specified in the code.
Galaxy Watch 5 Longer Battery Life
Fortunately, leaks indicate that battery life will be improved. Although the Galaxy Watch 4’s battery is superior to Apple’s, 40 hours of battery life pales in comparison to competitors like Fitbit and Garmin.
Galaxy Watch 5 owners should expect longer battery life if Samsung boosts the watch to 276mAh as previously reported. Because other factors, such as screen resolution, affect battery life, we can’t yet say whether or not we’ll notice the boost.
It was revealed in mid-June that Samsung’s new Galaxy watches would be able to charge wirelessly at 10W. As a reminder, wireless charging was also available on prior Samsung Galaxy watches, but only with certain pads. The Galaxy Watch 5 series may or may not be able to be charged using any of the available pads.
Galaxy Watch 5 Body Temperature Sensor
Although wearable rumours might be inaccurate, we hope this one is true: The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 may have a thermometer function. The ETNews article claims that this function would be useful for both recognising early signs of COVID-19 and tracking a woman’s cycle.
A trustworthy source, Ming-Chi Kuo, has expressed worries about Samsung’s ability to have this sensor ready for market on schedule. He believes that the current limits of the algorithm will keep it on the shelf for the time being. This would be sad, to say the least, but it’s too early to rule out the possibility completely at this point in time.

It’s hard to say where the Galaxy Watch 5 will end up on the scales when you take inflation and the Pro variants into account. Samsung’s 40mm Galaxy Watch 5 will cost €300, or roughly $315, according to a tip by WinFuture journalist Roland Quand. The larger variant costs €350, which is around $367. Additionally, Quand claims that the LTE models of both models will cost €350 (or approximately $367) and €400 (or about $420), respectively.

The pricing for the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 Pro were also released by Quandt. The Bluetooth model is expected to cost €490, or $514, while the LTE model is expected to cost €490, or $567. Taxes and currency conversions can cause these prices to fluctuate around the world. However, it’s a reasonable bet that the new Galaxy Watch 5 series will have a hefty price.
