Gothenburg, Sweden, was the birthplace of Henrik Stenson. Ingemar Stenson and Mona Irene Stenson are his parents. Ulrika Stenson, the golfer’s sister, is also a close friend of the champion. While many elite golfers have a natural affinity for the sport, he didn’t begin playing until he was 12.
He preferred to engage in sports including soccer, badminton, and street hockey. Henrik, on the other hand, became enamoured with golf after accompanying a friend to a driving range. After a few days, he requested his parents for some golf clubs, and they gave them, believing that their son would eventually get over it. Despite this, his passion for the sport only deepened.
In his second lesson, the golf pro told Henrik’s father, who was accompanying him, that he saw enormous potential in the young Swede. As a result, Ingemar and Mona relocated their family to Skne in order to allow Henrik to train more effectively.
That his parents encouraged and backed his professional endeavours goes without saying. Even though he made modest progress at Barsebäck Golf & Country Club in Skne, the Swedish golfer made a lot of development there. A perfectionist, according to his instructor, Henrik had the potential to be special. After years of hard work and a successful amateur career, the Iceman turned professional at the age of 22.

Professional Career
Henrik quickly rose to the top of the Challenge Tour money list after turning professional. In 2001, he made his European Tour debut and won the Benson & Hedges International Open in his maiden tournament. He had previously broken into the top ten of the Official World Golf Rankings in 2007 and remained there ever since. In addition, he became the first Swedish golfer to win a World Golf Championships tournament.

After winning the tournament, he rose to a career-high fifth in the world rankings, the highest position ever held by a Swedish golfer. In addition, he won the Ryder Cup in 2008, having previously triumphed for Europe in 2006. Henrik Stenson generated quite a sensation in the media during the first round of the WGC-CA Championship in 2009 after shooting a recovery shot in his underwear and gloves.
