Born Philip John Clapp in Knoxville, Tennessee, on March 11, 1971, he is best known by his stage name, Johnny Knoxville. His mother Lemoyne was a Sunday school teacher and his father Philip was a car and tyre salesman. He has two older sisters. Roger Alan Wade, Knoxville’s cousin and a singer-songwriter, gave him a book of Jack Kerouac’s On the Road, which sparked his interest in acting. They wed in September 2010 and had a baby girl in October of same year.
