Moneybagg Yo, a rapper, and Ari Fletcher, a social media influencer, both found themselves in the spotlight for reasons unrelated to their successful creative and business endeavours. Although Ari has a number of successful cosmetic lines, she is perhaps better known for her rocky relationship with the rapper G Herbo, the father of her kid, and his current companion, Taina Williams. Moneybagg’s romance with Megan Thee Stallion, which ended in 2019, was also widely reported upon.
They started dating in January of 2020, and the exes of other famous musicians immediately became another power couple. After being together for two years, Ari finally told her followers that she and Moneybagg had broken up. Many supporters were taken aback by the news and are now puzzling over what went wrong between Ari and Moneybagg.
So, why did Ari and Moneybagg break up?
Ari declared her breakup with Moneybagg through Twitter on Friday, August 26, 2022. The blogger revealed her single status in a succinct post, saying she is looking forward to the future. “I’m well-off, single, and content.” To put it simply, Ari made a tweet. A person who is “ready for everything new!” Several of Ari’s followers vented their disappointment in her underneath her tweet.
The majority of her friends implored her to admit that she had just been trolling and that she had not actually ended things with her partner of nearly two years. Ari continued to update her account with information on her beauty brand, Remedy by Ari, on Monday, August 28, telling her fans that she is “cooking for her family,” but she did not mention Moneybagg, despite their requests for further information.
Moneybagg has been silent about the status of their relationship and the reasons for their split since Ari’s post. However, according to Madame Noire, the “Wockesha” musician was spotted at the launch of Ari’s makeup line the day before she announced on Twitter that she was single. When they unfollowed each other on social media in March 2022, many thought something had transpired between them before the social media drama even began.
Moneybagg tweeted “F**k da media” with a middle finger emoji, perhaps in an effort to dispel the claims. While Ari shared a video of herself listening to “Here We Go” by Trina starring Kelly Rowland and a TikTok video of a guy talking about being hurt and broken, the damage had already been done when she hinted at being deceived by Moneybagg. Some people thought her song selection was an indication of trouble between her and Moneybagg.
Ari hinted at a polyamorous relationship with Moneybagg before their breakup.
A “single” post from Ari occurred after she and Moneybagg had tried to move forward in their relationship for a while. The former Savage X Fenty ambassador opened up about her relationship with Moneybagg on Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast in January 2022. Bisexual Ari revealed to Angela and the other presenters that she had pondered dating both Moneybagg and another lady at the same time.
I want to be his girlfriend, and she’s my girlfriend and enjoyable for him, Ari said. I don’t want there to be anything more than a sexual attraction between them. Moneybagg’s acceptance of Ari’s request is unknown, although online commenters have expressed increased alarm over her behaviour in the months prior. In September of 2021, Ari surprised her partner by giving him a 28.8-acre plot of property in Memphis, where he grew up.
She asked the question “What do you buy someone that has it all?” in the title of an Instagram slideshow of herself and Moneybagg out on the farm. An everlasting present. I’ve essentially purchased you a pension for the rest of your life. Accumulated fortune that will last for generations! We’re talking about 28.8 acres here, HUBBY! You have my undying affection. “Happy Birthday!”

Comments about Ari’s present quickly flooded in from all across the internet. Garcelle Beauvais, Loni Love, and Adrienne Houghton, hosts of The Real, discussed the situation on the show in September 2021. The relationship was rocky at first because Garcelle disagreed with a major purchase Ari made early on, said the couple was “playing married,” and questioned Ari’s decision-making. After hearing Garcelle’s comments, Ari presumably responded on Twitter to allay her fears.
She wrote, “I’ve never felt so protected, cherished, spoiled, and happy with a person. Y’all don’t know the half of what he does for me mentally or monetarily. My son and I are the two people he cares about the most in the world. So sorry you haven’t known love like this. Give your attention to acquiring a homestead and a husband.
