Megyn Kelly Plastic Surgery: How Many Surgeries She Had?

The fight goes on! On Monday, January 22, Megyn Kelly used the last few minutes of her Today show hour to lash out at Jane Fonda, who had previously blasted the anchor for questioning her about plastic surgery in September. Kelly, 47, stated to the camera, “And now, a word on Jane Fonda, who appears to be fixed on an exchange I had with her months ago on this show.”

What other people think of me is none of my concern, so when she initially complained publicly after the event — and repeatedly — I decided to say nothing. The following week, though, Fonda was back at it, first on NBC and then elsewhere. This ‘poor me’ act needs to end, obviously. The former Fox News anchor got into an argument with the Oscar winner, 80, when she questioned his views on ageing and cosmetic surgery during a heated interview last October.

Is now the time we want to have this conversation? At the time, Fonda answered while appearing on the NBC morning show to promote her Netflix movie, Our Souls at Night. After Lily Tomlin joked that she and Fonda have been pals since before the Golden Globe winner’s “first face-lift,” the Grace and Frankie actor revived the bad blood during a Today show interview with Savannah Guthrie and Hoda Kotb on January 16.

We don’t need to hear that,” Fonda retorted. Megyn Kelly? Who are you? Kelly stated on Monday that Fonda had already talked about her plastic surgery in interviews with Entertainment Tonight and W magazine, among other publications. This topic was apparently off-limits after she arrived, the NBC news personality claimed. Kelly elaborated, saying, “This is a woman whose name is synonymous with fury.”

See how she dealt with our troops during the Vietnam War. Many American war veterans remember her by the name “Hanoi Jane” because of her radio broadcasts that were meant to embarrass the United States military. She took a photo atop an anti-aircraft cannon that had been used to kill our pilots. All that righteous fury, then, is a bit excessive.

Her cosmetic enhancements were on full display. She claimed she wanted to talk about the difficulties faced by American women as they age. Furthermore, she has no right to instruct others on what constitutes objectionable speech. In a recent interview with Variety, Fonda addressed the plastic surgery drama once more, saying she was sorry for going to Hanoi in the first place.

The Fonda/Kelly Plastic Surgery Feud Part 2:

Fonda has commented on Kelly’s lack of professionalism in the media multiple times since the initial interview mishap. Lily Tomlin, Fonda’s co-star on Frankie and Grace, poked fun at her in jest by saying they’ve known each other “before (her) first facelift.” A more current source quotes Fonda as saying, “It wasn’t like I was upset. I couldn’t believe my eyes. Totally uncalled for.

It was evidence that she is not a skilled interviewer. Kelly, unsurprisingly, took offence to these comments and resolved to confront her adversary head-on. Kelly spent more than three minutes of the January 21st episode of the Today Show discussing her feelings towards Fonda. The reporter who caused controversy first stated that she was not sorry for her aggressive questioning or interview style.

Kelly said, “I have no remorse making that question, and I’m not looking for a lesson on propriety from Jane Fonda.” Kelly went further than anyone would have expected when she attacked Fonda’s patriotism and her past with the Vietnam War protest, as well as her years of silence on the subject of her many cosmetic operations.

Why does the Fonda/Kelly banter really matter?

Megyn Kelly and Jane Fonda’s catfight may have been entertaining to some, but to the rest of us it seems like pointless drama. Kelly’s snide questions and condescending tone continue to convey a message, nevertheless. The former Fox News reporter is effectively propagating the long-standing taboo around plastic surgery by putting Fonda on the line about the cosmetic treatment she has had.

No one should ever feel guilty or pressured to justify getting a cosmetic procedure that makes them feel better about themselves physically. Jane Fonda has never hidden the fact that she has had plastic surgery or cosmetic procedures like a facelift or Botox Cosmetic injections throughout her career. Fonda, an accomplished actress and campaigner in her 80s, exudes sophistication and poise.  If Fonda’s long-lasting confidence is in any way related to her plastic surgery, then she should be commended for giving herself the best care possible.
