Sean Hannity: Sean Patrick Hannity was born on December 30, 1961, in the Big Apple. Franklin Square, New York, was home for him as a kid. His mother, Lillian, and his father, Hugh, worked as officers in the family court system; Lillian was a stenographer and Hugh as a prison officer at the county jail. He is the last of four brothers and sisters.
His ancestry is Irish, as all four of his grandparents arrived in America from that country. He graduated from St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary in Uniondale, New York. He continued his education at NYU, UC Santa Barbara, and Adelphi University after that, although he never completed his degree. Hannity started his own residential painting business in 1982.
Several years later, he uprooted to Santa Barbara, California, where he established himself in the construction industry. In 1989, he got his start in radio with a talk show on KCSB-FM, a UC Santa Barbara-affiliated volunteer station.
His weekly show was canceled after less than a year on the air because of the “contentious” way in which LGBT rights were handled. As a result of this problem, the cancellation was necessary. After leaving KCSB, Hannity became the afternoon talk show host at WVNN in Athens, Alabama. His next stop was Atlanta, where he joined WGST in 1992.
