Largo High School Teacher Arrested For Sexually Assaulting Minor!

Largo High School Teacher Arrested: FOX 5 DC – PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, MARYLAND A Largo High School teacher in Prince George’s County is in custody after a former student accused him of sexually assaulting her. The victim reported the 2015–2017 sexual assault to police in Prince George’s County on September 30.

Lonnie Elias, Jr. was the victim’s teacher at the time of the incident. Investigators spoke with the victim, who described the assault. On Oct. 2, Detectives interviewed the criminal suspect. On Oct. 3, PGPD informed Prince Georges County Public Schools that Elias Jr. had been sent to administrative duty.

After police and the school administration found out about the incident, the suspect stopped interacting with youngsters. On October 18, the State’s Attorney’s Office presented this case to a Grand Jury for indictment on charges of Sex Abuse of a Minor and other related offenses.

On Friday, police in Upper Marlboro decided to place Elias Jr. under arrest; he has since been taken to the Department of Corrections pending his appearance before the District Court Commissioner.

Prince George’s County Public Schools have had Elias Jr. on staff since 2007. A letter from the superintendent confirms that he has been working as a music instructor and band conductor.

This is what the school principal says in the same letter:

“This is bad news for the people who live near Largo High School and International High School. We know that students, staff, and families will feel a lot of different things. We want you to know that any behaviour that hurts a student will not be allowed under any circumstances. We are still committed to making sure that all students get a good education in a safe place.”

According to State’s Attorney Aisha Braveboy, “the charges, in this case, are serious and worrisome.” “School is a place where children can feel secure enough to learn. We have faith in our educators and school administrators to keep students safe, and we will hold them accountable for any misconduct involving them.” If you think this is interesting, please share it with your friends.
