Medical examiners have determined that former University of Miami Hurricanes wide receiver Sam Bruce passed away at 24 from a heart attack earlier this year.
According to a story received by PEOPLE, Bruce passed away on April 28 from an abrupt myocardial infarction brought on by coronary heart disease. TMZ initially reported the news.
The night before he passed away, Bruce was in a car accident in Fort Lauderdale, and at first, authorities thought he had a seizure. A representative for the Fort. According to the Broward County Medical Examiner, Bruce passed from “natural” causes, and toxicology tests showed that nothing in his system caused his demise.
