When Did Pop Smoke Die?

On February 19, 2020, Jackson was a guest at a Hollywood Hills, California, home owned by Teddi Mellencamp of The Real Housewives and her husband, Edwin Arroyave, through the home-sharing website Airbnb. Jackson was in the shower when five males in hoods, one of whom was wearing a ski mask and carrying a weapon, broke into the house at around 4:30 a.m. (it is unclear if Jackson was in the shower or not).

During their break-in, the invaders threatened a woman’s life by putting a gun to her head. A short time later, the woman overheard the men shooting Jackson three times during an argument. A call from the East Coast informed the Los Angeles Police Department of the home invasion.

When police arrived at the house six minutes later, Jackson had multiple gunshot wounds. A thoracotomy was performed on the left side of his chest after he was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. After some time had passed, he was officially declared dead.

He was in his twenties. Jackson died from a gunshot wound to the torso, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-official Coroner’s report released on February 21.
