Matthew Kirschenheiter: After all the turbulence between them, Gina Kirschenheiter and her ex-husband Matthew Kirschenheiter are in a good place.
Gina and Matthew (Matt) Kirschenheiter scheduled an appointment for their three children, Sienna, Nick, and Luca, at the orthodontist during the Real Housewives of Orange County episode that aired on Wednesday.
Gina Kirschenheiter, 37, thought about how far she and Matthew Kirschenheiter have gone in their co-parenting adventure while sitting in the office with her ex-husband.
In a confessional, Gina remarked, “I literally would never have dreamed a year ago that I would be going to the orthodontist with Matt to take all the kids for a check-up.” “We’ve started a new stage of life, and we’re doing well.”
After eight years of marriage, Gina filed for divorce from Matt, 37, in April 2018. The now-exes briefly resumed their romance, but after a heated dispute in June 2019, they decided to end their relationship.
While their three children were in the other room, Matthew Kirschenheiter is accused of physically assaulting Gina and threatening to murder her. He was arrested and then charged with two felonies for domestic abuse. He later entered a not-guilty plea.
Gina received a temporary restraining order against him on her behalf. After Gina gave a victim impact statement in Matt’s case in April of last year, Matthew Kirschenheiter entered a guilty plea. Since then, they have successfully divorced, and they are still co-parenting their three children.
On Wednesday’s episode, Gina said to Matt, “I’m delighted we’re able to be at the orthodontist together,” as they waited for their kids’ dental exams. “Without police assistance!” Gina laughed and concurred when Matt responded with a joke.
Gina elaborated on their repaired connection in a confessional. She said, “I feel that making my victim impact statement offered me a lot of closure.” “Seeing Matt step up, he doesn’t blame me for it even if he does have these sanctions and consequences,” said the speaker.
She stated, “He understands and accepted responsibility for what happened there, and it has helped me let go of any unpleasant thoughts. We will never be best friends, but he is a fantastic father and a great co-parent. Gina acknowledged that the victim impact statement gave her closure, but she wasn’t always adamant about speaking to the judge.
In an earlier episode, Gina acknowledged to her attorney that she was unsure whether or not to testify in court because she and Matt had been “co-parenting so well” and it was tough to see Matthew Kirschenheiter going to jail and being unable to see his children.

Gina reportedly said at the time, “I want to release a statement — it’s one of those things that I know in the back of my mind would be good and healthy for me, but I don’t know if I can. The most important thing that has ever happened to me in my whole life, I want him to hear how I felt about that night.
It’s challenging because I usually put my children’s happiness before my sentiments, but she said, “I’m hoping that if he hears it, it will influence him in a way that will affect change. “I think my kids will benefit greatly from seeing that I will stand up for myself and I’m not just going to let Matthew Kirschenheiter blow this off,” she said.
Since mid-2019, Gina Kirschenheiter has been dating Travis Mullen following their breakup with Matthew Kirschenheiter. She expressed her joy about the relationship during a recent interview on PEOPLE’s Reality Check. “I’m overjoyed. I’m always content “She spoke. “That strikes me as both potent and amazing.
