Toby Keith told his fans on Sunday that he has stomach cancer. The country music artist announced the news on Instagram, noting that his diagnosis was made last fall.

The 60-year-old singer of “Red Solo Cup” said, “I’ve spent six months getting chemotherapy, radiation, and surgery. “Thus far, so good. I require some breathing room, rest, and relaxation.

He continued, I’m looking forward to spending this time with my family. But I will see the supporters shortly. I am very excited.

The performer will perform on June 17 and 18 in Illinois and Michigan as part of his current tour. Since writing, no formal statement regarding the performances’ continued existence has been made.

The musician, who released his first album in five years, Peso In My Pocket, last year, received love and well wishes from his fans and followers.
