Barbara Thore Passes Away: Star of ‘My Big Fat Fabulous Life’ At 76!
According to her daughter, my Big Fat Fabulous Life actor “Babs,” Barbara Thore passes away at 76.
According to Whitney Thore’s Instagram post, Barbara Thore passed on Thursday, December 8th, from cerebral amyloid angiopathy, which can result in brain hemorrhaging.
Whitney posted a video montage of Barbara Thore throughout her life and a memorial, writing: “My mother passed away last night just as her favorite movie’s credits rolled. Hunter, Dad, and I were holding her as she passed away.
She delivered me at the same time, at 10:32 p.m., about 40 years earlier.
According to her, cerebral amyloid angiopathy is an incurable disorder that worsens over time and is brought on by proteins in the brain’s blood vessels. It can result in dementia, seizures, or, as in my mother’s case, brain bleeding (haemorrhagic strokes).

After suffering her first stroke in 2017, Barbara Thore’s family was aware that further strokes were “eventually inevitable,” according to Whitney.
She said her mother was “loved, honored, and valued” and was “our family’s greatest gift.”

The Thore family was shown adjusting to life after Barbara Thore’s stroke in the 10th season of My Big Fat Fabulous Life, which debuted in August on TLC.
The family is depicted in the episode waiting to learn whether Barbara Thore will be admitted to a stroke rehabilitation program to aid in her recovery.
Whitney Thore informed the cameras that when she was given the all-clear to leave the hospital and start rehab, “They’re allowing her to enjoy the rest of her life. Sincerely, this seems like a dream. I don’t even think it feels natural. It’s incredible how far we’ve come on this emotional rollercoaster.
