Spence Jr Car Accident: Boxing Champ Errol Spence Jr Involved In Car Accident

Spence Jr Car Accident: The DeSoto, Texas, native and welterweight boxing champion Errol Spence Jr. was involved in an automobile accident on Saturday night.

Spence claimed he was struck by a car that ran a red light in an Instagram Live video. He expressed relief about not having his children in the car with him.

“It always happens to me,” he said.

The video displayed an SUV with significant front-end damage.

Spence was involved in a crash along Danieldale and Hampton roads, DeSoto police reported early on Sunday. According to a department official, Spence’s vehicle was hit by a car that allegedly ran a red light.

Police did not immediately have any other information to share, and a representative for Spence’s management business, Premier Boxing Champions, texted that he did not have any additional information beyond what was in Spence’s Instagram video on Saturday night.

Spence crashed his Ferrari at a high rate of speed in October 2019 just outside of downtown Dallas while not wearing a seat belt, resulting in a severe auto accident. After a prolonged recovery, he entered a guilty plea in June to a DUI charge linked to the collision and promised to utilize his platform to spread the word about the dangers of drinking and driving.

“Fortunately, no one else was involved in the accident, and I am most grateful for that,” Spence said in June. “It was an incident that would profoundly change my life.”

Spence has a 28-0 career record. He is No. 4 on The Ring’s pound-for-pound boxer rankings, No. 5 on Complex’s list, and No. 6 on DAZN’s list of boxers. He has prevailed in 22 fights via knockout and six via decision.

He owns the WBC, IBF, and WBA (Super) welterweight belts. In April, he defeated Yordenis Ugás at AT&T Stadium through technical knockout in the tenth round.

Spencer and another unbeaten boxer Terence Crawford (38-0), were supposedly on the verge of engaging in the long-awaited undisputed welterweight championship bout this fall.

Due to the cancellation of the fight with Crawford, Spence has no upcoming contests.

The WBC ordered Spence to face Keith Thurman in a title defense in November, but the two boxers have not yet reached a deal. On Saturday night, Crawford met David Avanesyan and won the WBO championship. Keep yourself updated with all the latest news from our website Newswatchlist.com and get all the recent updates.
