A 77-year-old lady was stabbed in her home over the weekend, and a man is now arrested on murder charges.

On Saturday, Eleanor Bowles was discovered dead in her house’s Paces West Terrace garage in a gated Buckhead enclave.

After Antonio Brown, 23, allegedly broke into Bowles’s home and attempted to take her 2021 Lexus RS350 around 11:30 a.m., police said they believed Bowles was home. They think she was slain because she tried to stop the heist.

The Fulton County Jail is holding Brown on the accusations of murder, aggravated violence, elder abuse, knife possession, and auto jacking. On Channel 2 Action News This Morning, we first saw his mugshot.

However, it is unknown how Brown could bypass the security at the gated neighborhood, despite investigators’ claims to the contrary. DeKalb County law enforcement located and retrieved the vehicle.

At a press conference on Monday evening, Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens revealed that a civilian had noticed Brown and informed the police, leading to his eventual apprehension.

The son visited his mother for the holidays, as confirmed by Deputy Chief Charles Hampton. Grieving the loss of a loved one during the holidays is not how any family should be forced to spend the season.

Larry Spruill of Channel 2 reports businesses have also had run-ins with Brown.

Yes, we are aware, but the encounters we had with him before this incident are still being investigated, as stated by Hampton.

Bowles’s loving ones have started a GoFundMe in her honor, with all proceeds going to the Atlanta Humane Society.

At the same press conference on Monday evening, Dickens revealed that a third youngster, a 16-year-old from Clayton County, had been detained in connection with the killings of 12-year-old Zyion Charles & 15-year-old Cameron Jackson near Atlantic Station last month.

Two students aged 15 and 16 from Atlanta Public Schools were arrested last week and charged with murder.

Dickens has made it clear that he would not stand for atrocities like these in the Atlanta area.

Let me make it clear to anyone thinking about committing a crime here: if you pull a gun or a knife on someone in our city, you will be arrested and sent to jail,” Dickens warned.

According to Dickens, the citywide surveillance system played a crucial role in locating the two criminals.

Although the news of Eleanor’s arrest has relieved her loved ones, their friend Annette Loper has claimed they will never recover from losing such a wonderful person.

You couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful person than she. Loyal to her children and grandchildren.
