Stephen Boss, better known as the DJ, dancer, and producer tWitch, passed away at 40. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-office Coroner’s and the Los Angeles Police Department both confirmed his death.

According to a statement released by the LAPD on Wednesday, police were sent to a motel in the Encino district on a call for an “ambulance fatality investigation” at around 11:20 a.m. local time on Tuesday. According to the investigators, Boss committed suicide.

“So You Think You Can Dance?” and “Dancing with the Stars” contestants Boss and his wife, Allison Holker, are both dancers. This week, the couple celebrated their tenth wedding anniversary since getting hitched in 2013. They have three kids together.

Boss participated in one season of “Dancing with the Stars” and five seasons of “So You Think You Can Dance.” Additionally, he joined the “Ellen DeGeneres Show” in 2014 and became a regular DJ.

He served as the show’s co-executive producer in 2020 and occasionally as host. DeGeneres honored Boss when the show’s run ended earlier this year. DeGeneres stated, “I met someone more than ten years ago who transformed my life and our program. I’m referring to you, tWitch. Then she started a video package showcasing his appearance on the agenda.

The host spoke about Boss on the show’s Instagram feed on Wednesday. “I’m devastated. tWitch was only pure light and love. I had nothing but love to give him because he was my family. He will be missed, “She posted a picture of them cuddling and commented. Please send Allison and his lovely children Weslie, Maddox, and Zaia your love and support.

Boss has acted in several films, many of which have a vital dance element, including “Hairspray,” “Stomp the Yard 2,” “Magic Mike XXL,” and many “Step-Up” iterations.

Boss and Holker played parents in the television holiday spectacular “The Hip Hop Nutcracker” together this season.

The couple frequently publishes videos on Instagram and TikTok and has a sizable following. Just two days before his passing, they shared a dancing video online.

The couple discussed their three children, Weslie, 14, who is from a former relationship of Holker’s, Maddox, 6, and Zaia, 3, on the “Jennifer Hudson Show” last month. On the program, Holker said that they’d like to have additional kids.

Allison Holker sent People an exclusive statement in which she revealed her husband’s passing: “Stephen brought light into every space he entered. Above all else, he treasured his family, friends, and community. He believed that the best way to lead was to lead with love and light. He was our family’s rock, the ideal husband and father, and an example to his admirers, “She spoke.

She added that it would be an understatement to say that he left a legacy, and his beneficial influence will still be felt. “There won’t be a day that we don’t remember him, and I’m positive. During this trying moment for myself and especially for our three kids, we kindly request your privacy.”
