Friends and Family Mourn the Deaths of Two Fathers in a Car Crash in Granite Bay

The untimely deaths of four men killed in a single-vehicle collision near Granite Bay on Wednesday night have left family and friends in mourning.

People gave one another embraces to ease their shock over their unexpected loss, and candles have now been lit at the crash site in honor of the guys who died.

We only need to pray for them, said Apeet Hundal.

People who knew the four friends—all of whom were fathers—arrived one by one in shock.

Kevin Hilton remarked, “I can’t say enough about him, he’s a terrific man, and that’s why I’m here tonight.

“I just wanted to come out here for the families,” Ben Straw said. “I just wanted to say a little prayer, and I just wanted to give them my heart.”

All of the victims’ identities have been verified by the CHP.

Jerry Cepel, the driver, and passengers Paul Hammack, 53, Karan Pannu, 45, and Patrick Gainer, 65.

At nine o’clock on Wednesday, a white Mercedes-Benz slammed into several trees on East Roseville Parkway before catching fire. Everyone perished there and there.

According to information obtained by CBS13, the men were at a neighboring restaurant and bar immediately before the collision. The hit happened a short distance from the Granite Bay Country Club, where they were all members.

The sound of the impact, according to Cindy Schlenz, who lives next door to the accident site, was unlike anything she had ever heard.

Schlenz remarked, “And I don’t even know if the house shook, but it did not sound like a car smash. “There wasn’t any shattering or another sound you might expect to hear before a crash. The largest boom just happened out of nowhere.”

A community is currently in mourning.

Bill Reynolds stated, “These were dads in our town, and I’m a dad, and it just hit me knowing that four dads were lost.”

The CHP is handling the inquiry. They claim that it is now unknown whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the collision.
