Is Wendy Williams Sick? Why Was Her Show Cancelled?

Wendy Williams Sick: The past few years have struggled for Wendy Williams. Before her talk show’s final season ended in June, she missed it because of various health issues. The 58-year-old has since been working on her next major project (a podcast). Still, she’s currently pausing to take some R&R. She has gone into a wellness center to treat “general health difficulties,” per a press release from her publicist.

“She is taking some time to focus on her health and wellness as she prepares for a major comeback for the next level in her career with The Wendy Experience Podcast,” the press release states, per People. “A team is treating Ms. Williams with some of the best doctors in the world. We ask for your prayers and well wishes during this time.”

Williams’ team disclosed that she had Graves’ disease complications and COVID-19 during her prior health absence. She told TMZ in July that because of lymphedema, which is swelling brought on by fluid retention, she can only feel 5% of her feet.

In March, she told Good Morning America she was “very well.” “I’ve had a few appointments,” she said. “You know, I’m 57 now and have the mind and body of a 25-year-old.”

She may not have anticipated The Wendy Williams show to end the way it did, but she sees it as a chance to advance and expand. She teased The Wendy Experience podcast last month in a now-deleted advertisement with the phrase, “TRUST ME. I will be BACK!”

“Wendy is excited about everything new in her life, and her main priority is her health and shooting her podcast’s first episode. That’s the focus right now,” her rep, William Selby, told People at the time, adding that she “wants to take things slow and put her focus into launching [it].”

“Wendy is at a wonderful point in her life where she can pause, breathe, and smell the roses,” Selby added. Everyone knows that Wendy has spent her entire life working hard and wants to return to the horse.

Hopefully, the celebrity receives the rest and care required to ride.
