Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel Wins Miss Universe Competition!

Miss USA R’Bonney Gabriel Wins Miss Universe Competition: The first Filipino-American to win Miss USA at the international beauty pageant in New Orleans on Saturday night took home the crown at the 71st Miss Universe Competition.

Texas-based fashion designer, model, and sewing instructor R’Bonney Gabriel won the competition over 83 other competitors.

When the winner was finally revealed spectacularly, Gabriel closed her eyes and held hands with Miss Venezuela, and Amanda Dudamel smiled when her name was called.

She was given a bunch of flowers, covered in the winner’s sash, and given a tiara on stage as thudding music played.

Miss Brand Corp., who organized the Miss USA pageant, was placed on administrative leave by the Miss Universe Organization after allegations that the contest was fixed and the winner was known before the competition began in October 2022.

On October 3, Miss Texas R’Bonney Gabriel was named Miss USA.

After winning, the contestants started complaining that she had already been “pre-selected” to take the championship.

As she took the platform for the final time, Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu struggled to hold back her tears and almost fell.

Since winning the reign, she has put on weight, and in August 2022, she claimed that she had faced continual criticism on social media.

“I was bullied for gaining weight,” said the Indian-born beauty queen. “It was uncomfortable and surprising to see how people started having opinions that should not matter. It’s not about how you look. It’s about who you are from inside and how you treat people, and what you believe in.”

Miss Dominican Republic, Andreina Martinez, finished as the second runner-up in the contest on Saturday.

Gabriel was questioned on how, if she were to win, she would endeavor to show that Miss Universe is “an empowering and progressive organization” during the Q&A session for the three finalists.

She said, “I would use it to be a transformative leader,” highlighting her work creating clothing out of discarded materials and teaching sewing to victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking.

“It is so important to invest in others, in our community, and use your unique talent to make a difference,” Gabriel continued. “We all have something special, and when we plant those seeds to other people, we transform them and use them as a vehicle for change.” Please forward this to your friends if you find it interesting.
