At 11.45 p.m. on Thursday, police discovered the body of a 44-year-old woman inside an apartment on Haslemere Road. Police called it a “sudden death,” as was previously reported, and an arrest was made.
A 51-year-old male has been freed on unconditional bail, according to a Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary spokeswoman, who also revealed that he was detained on suspicion of murder. Police are continuing their inquiries, she said.
