A missing 4-year-old Oklahoma girl’s second carer was detained on Friday. The girl’s 5-year-old sister was found strolling alone by a mail carrier on Tuesday, sparking the start of the search.

Ivon Adams, 36, was apprehended on Thursday in Arizona, according to a Friday Facebook post from the OSBI, and is awaiting extradition to Oklahoma. The organization withheld information regarding the charges he was expected to face.

According to OSBI, his wife Alyisa Adams was arrested on two counts of child neglect on Thursday.

Athena Brownfield, 4, was reported missing to authorities in Cyril, Oklahoma, after a mailman outside Adams’ house discovered her five-year-old sister on Tuesday at around 2 p.m. local time. This was when the incident started to take place. Initially listed as three years old on a missing person’s poster, Brownfield is now listed as four years old in agency updates.

Brownfield wasn’t found as of Thursday night. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Emergency Response Team, and neighborhood volunteers grid-searched the entire town. According to OSBI, that search included a look at all nearby waterways and every known vacant dwelling.

Officials also said that the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs was utilizing drones to fly over the neighborhood and that the Oklahoma Department of Corrections was using search dogs in the region. As the hunt lasted into Thursday, law officers reportedly interviewed people and looked over the security footage.

The authorities think the young child is in Cyril or the nearby area in Caddo County. Less than 900 people live in Cyril, a tiny community roughly 70 miles south of Oklahoma City.
