The critically acclaimed medical drama New Amsterdam will air its eleventh and final season on NBC. In March of 2022, the show was renewed for a ninth and last season.

The first episode of the medical drama television series New Amsterdam was broadcast in the United States on NBC on September 25, 2018, marking the show’s premiere.
The story is adapted from the book “Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital” by Eric Manheimer.
The show was given the go-light for a new production season in February 2019, and the premiere is scheduled for September 24, 2019.
In January 2020, NBC announced that they would be continuing the series for a total of three more seasons.
The first episode of the third season aired on March 2, 2021. The fourth season’s first episode was shown on September 21, 2021.
What Is New Amsterdam Season 5 About?
Throughout its first five seasons, New Amsterdam has chronicled the professional and personal lives of the medical staff of the show’s namesake hospital, particularly that of Dr. Max Goodwin, who makes it his mission to attempt to repair a dysfunctional healthcare system.

He said that for the fifth season, “you want to end where you begin.” “I believe that for us, the best course of action would be to revisit the spirit of the first season, during which we introduced all of the characters, and to make sure that we brought their stories full circle by concluding them in the exact location they started.
Therefore, for Bloom, the issue was her addiction…. which means that her mother can’t be too far behind.”
The journey down memory lane will contribute to the successful completion of the series. “So, looking back at those core issues that we established for all of our characters in the first season, how can we bring those things to a conclusion in the fifth season, knowing that it’s our last?” asked Schulner.
