Phil Baroni, a former MMA competitor, and UFC fighter, has been accused of killing his fiancée. A Mexican publication called The Tribuna De La Bahia recounted the unexpected turn of events.
The victim was thrown into the shower by Baroni (46), who admitted to it. There, she hit her skull and eventually passed away.
The fighter’s girlfriend allegedly admitted to cheating on him, leading to a quarrel. The victim was likewise a resident of Mexico City, and the crime occurred in San Pancho, Nayarit, Mexico.
According to the report, she reportedly fell and hurt her head because Baroni pushed her into the shower.
Baroni claims that after helping her get back into bed, he left the room at her request to bring her some cigarettes and alcohol. The woman had no vital signs when he entered the room again.
Phil then called the police, who arrived to find his girlfriend unresponsive on the bed, covered in a sheet.
The victim had injuries on her face and torso, according to the police, showing that she had been abused. In addition, an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
Why Was Baroni Detained?
Baroni has been detained for murder in the interim, and a thorough investigation has begun. On social media, images of Baroni being questioned by the police have also surfaced.
Additionally, it was claimed that the former UFC fighter was under the effects of narcotics and alcohol at the time of the incident.
How Did Phil Baroni’s Mma Career Begin?
Phil was already a seasoned UFC fighter when he made his promotional debut at UFC 30 in February 2001.
Baroni, also known as the “New York Bad Ass,” rose to fame as a fighter thanks to his gung-ho, action-packed combat style. Baroni finished the sport with a mediocre 16-19 record, having gone 3-6 inside the Octagon.
The 46-year-old’s recent mixed martial arts match occurred in 2019, and he briefly competed in professional boxing in 2021.
In 2019, Baroni competed in a pro wrestling bout for Game Changer Wrestling at Josh Barnett’s Bloodsport, among other matchups.
Baroni may have gone too far after borrowing a strategy from Dana White. So, it’s still unclear what punishment he will get for allegedly killing his girlfriend.
