Derek Hough and Hayley Erbert’s Engagement
On June 2, Derek and Hayley announced their engagement on social media. The DWTS judge shared a photo of himself cuddling up to his new fiance in front of a candlelit floral arrangement.
Derek remarked, “It’s simply the beginning…the beginning of forever,” while many admirers and well-known people, like Jennifer Lopez, expressed their joy at the good news.
Additionally, after spending the day in Yosemite, Derek proposed the most charming spot for them, their own home, explaining that it felt significant because it is where they both work and share a home.
“We travel worldwide and [do] all these amazing adventures. We love all that, but what we love even more is coming back home and being in our place together,” he said to Us Weekly.
Derek’s event planner also revealed they filled the house with over “250 candles and 1,600 roses.”

With their engagement, Derek is eager to begin their life together and establish a family, and he isn’t afraid to talk openly about it.

Continuing, he said: “Just seeing the way she is with our animals, I mean if she’s even a quarter of the way she is with our animals how she is with our kids I just can’t wait to see her be a mom.”
