The connection between Darvill and Clercq began before 2012. But little information about their actual relationship history has been shared by the two.
His 2012 Christmas Instagram photo is the only evidence to demonstrate this. The Doctor Who actor shared a holiday photo with Clercq and his cat, Prince Philip, on December 25, 2012.
The couple and Philip were all wearing red clothing when the photo was taken. The glowy Christmas trees on Darvill and his then-red girlfriend’s t-shirts were Christmas-themed.
As for Philip, a recent addition to the family at the time, he wore a red dress with white borders, presumably resembling Santa. He also looked uncomfortable while being held by Clercq.
Darvill wished everyone a Merry Christmas and referred to themselves in the caption as “family.”

The next time she appeared in his post was in November 2015, when Darvill reposted Caity Lotz’s upload calling them “love birds.”
This was a few months after he had reportedly called her his fiancee at some other place.
He still called her his girlfriend until May 23, 2015, when he defended her against haters on Instagram.

As for her work in theater, Clercq has worked in six stage productions.
