Sadly, Keith Ledsome passed away. He was predeceased by Dewey G. and Gatha B. Crihfield Ledsome and his sister Wanda Lee Short Ward.

He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandparent, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend to many. Rand, West Virginia—now known as Rand—is where he was raised.

While working as a Free and Accepted Mason in Pennsylvania, he was a member of Lodge No. 2 there. He was born and raised in the form of Pennsylvania.

Eleven granddaughters and five great-grandchildren are left behind in addition to Keith’s devoted wife, Gertrude D. “Trudy” (née D’Amico) Ledsome of Glenside, his daughter Stephanie Ledsome and her husband David of Parksburg, Pennsylvania, and his daughter Jessica Jacobs.

Eleven grandkids and five great-grandchildren also survive Keith. In addition, Keith left behind five great-grandchildren and eleven granddaughters.

Without Keith, it will be very challenging to continue. One of the people still alive after Keith’s death is his brother, David Ledsome.

In 1953, he earned his high school diploma from DuPont. Keith rose to become the meat cutter at the A & P Supermarket on Broad Street in Charleston.

He continued working there till 1964. In April 1964, he began working in sales for Charleston’s Elk Grocery Company. Because of his excellent work ethic, loyalty, and tenacity, he was able to occupy roles as the sales manager, vice president, and president of Elk Grocery Company.

The most challenging day of his life was when he had to inform his coworkers that the Board of Directors had decided to merge with Standard Food, now known as U S Foodservice, his competitor. As a result, the majority of the staff would lose their jobs. This occurred in December 1986.

His chest was broken. He consented to Hurricane’s Standard Food Service having a two-year transitioning phase. After demonstrating his outstanding performance, he was granted the chance to continue working for the company.

He worked as a buyer, director of purchasing, and vice president of merchandising and marketing until his retirement in December 2000.

After retirement, he established Norbert’s Enterprises and continued his side job in sales there. This business provided personalized promotional and gift goods for companies.

Additionally, he actively participated in the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce. Keith was a devout disciple of Jesus, trying to live up to the example set by his Lord and Savior in everything he did.

He had attended Elk River Nazarene Church after spending his entire life as a Baptist. The Lord endowed him with musical talent and a love of gospel music.

He began using his talent for the Lord when he joined his sister and brother-in-law in the Tru-Tone Quartet at 16. He enjoyed Southern gospel music and sang with the Gospel Sounds, Songsters Quartet, Soul Winners Quartet, and Evangelaires.

Many others have been inspired and encouraged by his passion for music. He composed several songs that the Stamp Baxter Music Company released and instructed choir workshops and lessons in shaped-note singing.
