A crash in Madera left three people hospitalized, one needing to be airlifted.
Officers responded to a crash report on Granada Drive between Riverview Drive and Sunset Avenue just before 6 o’clock on Sunday.
According to investigators, a driver passed the car in front of him on the right side while traveling south on Granada’s two-lane road.
The driver sideswiped the car he was trying to pass as he turned back into the lane, sending him into oncoming traffic.
He then struck a car head-on traveling north on Granada, causing the car to crash into a tree.

According to authorities, one of the accident’s drivers must be transported by air to Community Regional Medical Center.
The motorist who caused the collision and another driver was taken by ambulance to the hospital.
Unknown is the state of the three drivers. The accident is still being looked into.
