The winner of this season’s “America’s Got Talent” has been announced. The 18th season of the NBC reality competition was won by Adrian Stoica and his dog Hurricane on September 27. They won the $1 million grand prize and the opportunity to perform as the featured act at the Las Vegas Luxor Theater in the “America’s Got Talent” Presents Superstars Live program.
Winners Stoica and Hurricane became the first canine act to take home “AGT“‘s top prize since Olate Dogs in 2012. Five acts were narrowed down to two, and the winner was Stoica and Hurricane. Anna DeGuzman was a magician. Murmuration, a dance company, came in third.
Stoica and Hurricane, together with guest judge Sofia Vergara, performed an upbeat routine to “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen on September 26. They got a rousing round of applause after their performance.
“If you need me any other time to be part of your act, you know where to find me,” Vergara said afterward. The other judges shared the same level of awe. “That was amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it,” Howie Mandel said.
“What is not to love?” Heidi Klum gushed. “Hurricane is adorable, the smartest dog I’ve ever seen. This whole thing was adorable.” “She should be in a movie or a musical because she’s the star,” Simon Cowell raved.
This season, the two of them had become fan favorites. After their August performance, AGT judge Howie Mandel remarked, “That was my favorite dog act ever on ‘AGT.’” In other words, “I think Hurricane is ready for Vegas!” Vergara yelled vehemently.
