On Wednesday, a shooting was reported at an Amazon Flex Warehouse on McQueen and Queen Creek roads. The Chandler Police Department has been looking into the incident ever since.
Sgt. Jason McClimans, a spokesman for the Chandler Police Department, said that at around 9:30 a.m., they received a call reporting that a man, later identified as 29-year-old Jacob Murphy, had shot another man in the parking lot of the Amazon warehouse. The victim, a contractor for Amazon who remains unnamed, was rushed to the hospital in critical condition after being shot.
McClimans claims a different male Amazon contractor shot Murphy after the initial incident. Murphy was found dead at the scene, although it is unclear if the third man shot and killed him or if Murphy took his own life. According to the authorities, the second male contractor is not being detained.

The incident had no other casualties. McClimans said both Amazon contractors are helping the authorities. It is unknown what connection, if any, the victim had to Murphy.
After investigating the incident, authorities concluded that the gunshot was not related to Amazon or the delivery station, according to McClimans.
In the parking lot, contract delivery driver Bryson Bobbitt heard gunfire.
Bobbitt stated, “Once I saw people running, I was like, ‘well, I need to get out of here.'” He then rapidly drove his truck to safety. After the first shock wears off, things return to normal.
According to the Arizona Republic, contractors and workers of Amazon who showed up for work at 10:30 a.m. were ordered to go home. According to a statement released by Amazon spokesperson Richard Rocha, the company has halted operations and sent employees home with compensation.
“This terrible act of violence in our parking lot has devastated us. We’re assisting law enforcement in their investigation while keeping our attention on rallying around our staff, “As Rocha put it.
