Andre Iguodala Career
Andre Iguodala has had a long and varied career in the National Basketball Association. He spent the first eight years of his career, from 2004 to 2009, with the Philadelphia 76ers, where he was selected and where he eventually became an All-Star and helped lead the club to the NBA Finals that year.
As a skilled defender and all-around player, he continued to succeed after being moved to the Denver Nuggets in 2012. Iguodala was one of the best players in the NBA during his career, but he really came into his own during his six years with the Golden State Warriors.
He played a significant role in the Warriors’ “Death Lineup,” a small-ball lineup that contributed to the team’s three NBA titles in 2015, 2017, and 2018. In 2015, he became the first player in NBA Finals history to be chosen MVP while not appearing in every game of the series.
The Memphis Grizzlies acquired Iguodala in 2019, although he never played for the franchise and was later bought out of his contract. He then became a key cog in the Miami Heat’s 2019 NBA Finals success after signing with the Heat for the upcoming season.
After spending the 2020-21 season with the Memphis Grizzlies, he was moved back to the Golden State Warriors for the 2021-22 season. Iguodala’s strengths as a player have always been his adaptability, defensive grit, and ability to contribute in a number of different capacities.
