Beverly DAngelo Husband Happily Divorced Her So She Could Be With Al Pacino: ‘He’s Fabulous’!
Beverly D’Angelo is being honest about a few of her previous relationships.
The National Lampoon’s Vacation actress, 71, tells how she met Al Pacino, 82, in the 1990s while she was still married to her husband, Italian duke Lorenzo Salviati, in the most recent edition of PEOPLE.
Shortly after meeting at a Los Angeles party, she and Salviati fled. Beverly D’Angelo, currently acting in the comic thriller Violent Night, recalls how she and the group met in the early 1980s and came to an understanding: They would each go out and have fun, but if there were any crises, they would reunite.
When I met Al Pacino and informed him about my little bargain, he responded, “Well, that’s insane,” she says. D’Angelo contacted Salviati to explain. “I always believed the guys I was with thought it was great that I was married because they knew ‘no responsibility here!’ I said, “I’m in love.” He replied, “Oh, Beverly, who is it this time?” in an Italian accent. I replied, “Well, it’s an actor.” He responded, “An actor? No, no, not an actor.” I continued, “I love him, and we’re talking about having kids. He thinks it’s crazy that I’m married, and now I’m thinking it’s crazy too.”
Beverly D’Angelo reported that Salviati persisted in his protest. He said, “Oh, that’s ridiculous. Who thinks this perfect relationship is crazy? Who is this actor?” I responded, “Well, it’s Al Pacino. He’s fantastic. I love him. We divorce!”
Their divorce was uncontested and friendly. Beverly D’Angelo states, “We just signed these documents. It took my mother-in-law 15 years to realize that I wasn’t in the marriage for a title of riches or status, so I believe that’s when she started to love me.

In 2001, at the age of 49, Beverly D’Angelo gave birth to twins Anton and Olivia with Pacino. She and Al Pacino broke up shortly after, but she still cherishes their relationship. According to Beverly D’Angelo, the birth of my child was the most excellent present Al ever gave me.
Even though they are not dating, she claims Salviati is still her soul match. She says, “It was a wonderful love match.”
In theatres right now is Violent Night.
