Christopher Nolan Christian Bale Movies: Christian Bale has not entirely ruled out returning to the big screen for a fourth outing as Bruce Wayne/Batman. The only condition is that Christopher Nolan must direct. Oscar-winning actor recently told ScreenRant that he would don the cape of the Dark Knight if Nolan were to return as director. Both “The Dark Knight” and “The Dark Knight Rises” grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office.

“No. No one has ever brought it up to me. “No one has mentioned it,” Bale responded when questioned about returning as Batman. People may occasionally tell me, ‘Oh, I heard you were approached and given all this.’ And I respond, “That is news to me. “No one has ever stated that”

“I have an agreement with Chris Nolan,” stated Bale. “We said, ‘Hey, see. If we’re fortunate enough to be able to, let’s make three films. And then, let’s depart. Let us not linger unduly.’ It would be remarkable if Chris Nolan told himself, “You know what, I have another story to tell.” And if he wanted to give me that narrative, I’d be game.”

In “Batman Begins,” Nolan and Bale reinvented the comic book film with their genuine approach to the genre. Many still consider 2008’s “The Dark Knight” the best superhero film ever produced.

Since Bale departed from the character of Batman, both Ben Affleck and Robert Pattinson have assumed it. The latter won praise earlier this year for “The Batman,” which grossed $770 million worldwide (considerably more than “Batman Begins” gross of $373 million).

“I still haven’t seen it. “I will see it,” Bale told Variety recently of “The Batman.” “Listen, buddy. It’s incredible how few movies I watch. I’ve seen a couple of the films of every filmmaker I work with, and they invariably look at me and say, “Are you kidding?” I enjoy savoring films and do not watch too many. However, I surely will.”

Bale continued, “Robert is a terrific actor. We ran into each other, spoke briefly about it beforehand, and I heard amazing things.” Next up for Bale is a return to comic book films as the villain Gorr the God-Butcher in the July 8 release of “Thor: Love and Thunder.”
