On Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., in the Pioneer Gym, Reverend Tommy Donaldson will preside over a Celebration of Life Service for Cody T. Dotson, 41, of the Pioneer Community.

The burial will occur in the Bethany Cemetery in a private family ceremony. On Friday night from 6:00 to 7:00, the family will host a visitation at the funeral home. Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home & Crematorium is in charge of the arrangements.

Cody Dotson was born in Enid on September 4, 1981, to Wesley and Connie (Sanders) Dotson. He tragically died in a farming accident on May 8, 2023.

He graduated from Pioneer High School in 2000, where he played on state-winning football teams three times. After studying at OSU Okmulgee Tech, he graduated with an Applied Science degree.

In 2004, he transferred to Ditch Witch of Oklahoma from his previous position as a technician for the company. He was hired by CGB and stayed there for a decade. Enterprise Grain Company, 81 Feed and Seed, and Sidwell Transportation hired Cody last year as their COO.

On March 7, 2009, in Enid, Cody wed Chelsi Pitman, the girl he’d loved since high school. He loved watching his children, Emmy and Declan, compete in their many sports.

Cody was baptized in the creek up north of the home property and joined the Bethlehem Baptist Church afterward. Cody was a dedicated provider for his family and a tireless worker who could fix anything.

Those who knew and loved Cody after his passing include his wife Chelsi, their children Emmy and Declan, his parents Wes and Connie, his brother Tucker and his wife Whitney, his sister Lezlie Meibergen, their grandmothers Gloria Howery and Stanley Dotson, his in-laws Tony and Ginger Pitman, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

His grandmother Oletta Dotson, his grandfather Leslie Sanders, and his step-grandfather Harold Howery died before him.

Donations in memory of Chelsi Dotson can be held in trust by Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory to benefit his children’s higher education expenses.
