Don Cheadle Iron Man: Marvel’s Series ‘Armor Wars’ To Be Turned Into Feature Film
Armor Wars, a show starring Don Cheadle, is getting a sudden change of plans from Marvel. Deadline says that Marvel Studios has made a lot of changes to a planned Disney+ series, including bringing back Emmy nominee Cheadle as James “Rhodey” Rhodes, also known as “War Machine.”
Kevin Feige and his team have decided to make it into a movie instead, but there isn’t a director attached to the project yet. Armor Wars also doesn’t belong on the MCU’s Phase 5 release schedule, which is already full. Disney hired writer and comedian Yassir Lester last year to run the TV version of Armor Wars. He is expected to stay on as the project moves to a movie.
The well-known Iron Man comics narrative by David Michelinie and Bob Layton, released in the late 1980s, served as the inspiration for the TV show-turned-movie. When the technology belonging to his late friend Tony Stark is misused in this live-action adaptation, Rhodey is forced to deal with a crisis on all fronts. Cheadle or Marvel Studios have not yet made an official statement about this significant development.
Next, up for Cheadle is the Disney+ crossover series Marvel’s Secret Invasion, in which Nick Fury and a few of his former SHIELD colleagues attempt to halt an invasion by the Skrulls, a race known for their shape-shifting abilities.
The Skrulls’ potential for danger has been underestimated by his colleagues in the US government, according to the show’s teaser, which suggests that Rhodey may know more about them than Fury anticipated. Along with Samuel L. Jackson reprising his role as Nick Fury in the eyepatch, the series will also star Olivia Colman, Emilia Clarke, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Olivia Colman.
