Uche Nwaneri Dies: Uchechukwu Nwaneri, a former offensive lineman for the Jacksonville Jaguars, passed away on Friday, the organization confirmed on Monday afternoon.
He was 38.
Uche Nwaneri, who had traveled from Georgia to West Lafayette, Indiana, to be with his wife at the time of his alleged breakdown, was there, according to the Lafayette Journal and Courier. According to the complaint, his wife discovered him unconscious in a bedroom around one in the morning and dialed 911. An autopsy’s preliminary findings suggest a potential heart attack. Officials have not found any evidence of wrongdoing.

Between 2007 and 2013, Uche Nwaneri participated in the league for seven seasons. The Jaguars drafted him out of Purdue in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. Nwaneri started the rest of his career after making one start as a rookie. In 2014, he signed a short-term contract with the Dallas Cowboys. However, he was ultimately cut from the team.
Uche Nwaneri launched “The Observant Lineman,” a well-liked YouTube channel after he retired, and there he covered the Jaguars and the rest of the league in general.
