Friday night, the Fashion Trust U.S. ceremony in Los Angeles was not short on star power or red carpet-worthy attire.
Fashion Trust U.S., the American division of Tania Fares and Co.’s now-global organization that assists fashion designers in connecting with mentors for production and professional development, brought stylists, designers, and celebrities together to celebrate the best up-and-coming designers in America.
The organization’s inaugural event, which comedian Phoebe Robinson emceed, has the makings of a significant movement to give the upcoming generation of designers the resources, exposure, and direction they require to flourish.
The FTUS board comprised Fares, Laura Brown, Karla Welch, Tan France, Samira Nasr, and Anne Crawford, and the advisory board, ambassadors, and founding sponsors, all influential figures in the fashion and design industries, who decided on the winners.
Together with the awards, the ceremony featured a performance by Rumer Willis and an after-party with music by Dua Lipa, Beyoncé, and Diana Ross being spun by Mia Moretti.
Aisling Camps were among the Fashion Trust U.S. 2023 award recipients, receiving the St. John Ready-to-Wear Award. She will receive a grant and the chance to collaborate with the St. John team on a unique project and get mentoring and business development assistance from Global CEO Andy Lew.
The winners of the 2023 Jewelry Award are L’Enchanteur’s Soul and Dynasty Ogun. The couple will also receive a grant and professional mentorship from FTUS.

The first Fashion Trust U.S. Sustainability Award was awarded to Elena Velez, while the Google Creativity Award went to Puppets & Puppets. Each night’s victor received an Ana Khouri-designed trophy composed entirely of traceable fair, mined gold.
In addition to St. John’s Andy Lew, celebrity presenters included Tracee Ellis Ross, Ciara, Olivia Wilde, and Maria Sharapova.
Guests included notable fashion aficionados Kathryn Newton, Kiernan Shipka, and Zoey Deutch, and models Alessandra Ambrosio, Heidi Klum, and Molly Sims with famed stylists Petra Flannery, Karla Welch, Rachel Zoe, Law Roach, and Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, better known as Wayman and Micah.
Because the inaugural event this year was a success, Fares promised guests that it would return every year, carrying on the Fashion Trust’s goal of highlighting the upcoming generation of talent.
