WEST VALLEY, Washington – (REPORT) An investigation has led to the arrest of a man, age 18, who is suspected of shooting and killing a teenager at West Valley Park on Friday.
Shortly after 6 p.m., police were called to 1323 South 80th Avenue, where they discovered the 16-year-old victim suffering from several gunshot wounds.
Who Has Been Confirmed Dead In The Fatal Shooting At West Yakima Park?
After being transferred to a hospital in Yakima, the staff confirmed that he had passed away.
After stepping out of a vehicle that was seen leaving the park, the suspect in the shooting is said to have fled the scene on foot, according to the officials who arrived at the site.
Law officials established a perimeter, and they were able to locate the culprit within an hour. At this point, they are not looking for any further potential suspects.
The Yale Police Department believes that narcotics activity led to the shooting. According to Lieutenant Mike Pollard, the suspect will almost certainly be charged with murder in the first degree.

Yakima police were able to arrest them with the assistance of the Yakima County Sheriff’s Office. Neither the suspect nor the victim’s name has been made public.
