George Carlin, born in New York City on May 12, 1937, is a native. Cardinal Hayes High School was George Carlin’s next stop after attending Corpus Christi School in Morningside Heights.

Years of Camp Notre Dame, a former summer camp for Catholic boys run by the Collum family, were spent by George attending it when still a little lad near New Hampshire’s Lake Spofford.

George Carlin had various cardiac issues and suffered three heart attacks over thirty years, one each in 1978, 1982, and 1991.
George Carlin needed an ablation treatment in 2003 because of an arrhythmia. In 2005, he suffered a severe case of heart failure.
George suffered heart failure again three years later, on June 22, 2008, and died at a hospital in Santa Monica, California.
The beloved comic was 71 years old and had just one week earlier given his final live performance.
