Grayson Chrisley was taken to the hospital after a car accident last weekend left him hurt.
The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department confirmed to PEOPLE that the 16-year-old son of Todd and Julie Chrisley was in Nashville, Tennessee, last Saturday when he crashed into the back of a stopped car. Grayson could not remember anything about the collision after it happened, maybe because of a head injury.
The Chrisley Knows Best actor was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of his wounds. Todd went into further depth about the incident in his podcast Chrisley Confessions.
In the episode from November 17, he said, “Grayson was in a terrible vehicle accident on the interstate, and we got the phone call that we had to get to him.” “I jumped in the car and found him on the interstate,” the speaker said, “running out of the house.”
Todd, 53, continued: “There was the highway patrol. There were long lines of vehicles on the road. He totaled his automobile.” The reality star also expressed his gratitude for his son’s survival.
He recalled: “I remember seeing Grayson on that stretcher in the back of that ambulance and his weeping, and the police stopped to talk to me before they took me to him, and all I could think of was thank God because he is alive and crying.”
“I responded, “I’m not going anywhere,” when they asked if I wanted to accompany him on a trip to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. I’ll stay by his side until he joins me at home, “He went on. “I, therefore, recall grasping his hand and telling him, “It’s ok.” It will be alright.”

Because “it was property damage and not a life loss,” Todd said his family is “fortunate.” The incident occurred more than a week before Todd and Julie’s scheduled sentencing in their case involving bank fraud and tax evasion.
According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a federal jury found Todd Chrisley and his 49-year-old wife, Julie Chrisley, guilty of conspiring to commit bank fraud, defrauding the US, and conspiring to commit tax fraud in June. Also found guilty of wire fraud was Julie.
The two have refuted every accusation. Their sentence was postponed from October 6 to November 21 due to their plan to challenge the conviction.
