On Saturday afternoon, a collision occurred in the eastbound lanes of I-26 close to Exit 72 for Whitmire. The Newberry County Sheriff’s Office stated on the same afternoon that “many” injuries and two medical helicopters were requested to land on the interstate, though many facts are still sketchy.
