Billie Eilish, who rose to prominence at a young age, has spent the past year demonstrating that she has what it takes to become an enduring cultural force. New music video for “Lost Cause” has Billie hosting a sleepover for her female fans.
After the video was released, the singer shared set photographs with a commentary that prompted speculation about her sexuality.
Is Billie Eilish gay?
Billie posted “I love girls” as a caption beside photographs of her and the girls in the music video.
Fans of the singer had previously assumed that she was straight, but now some are questioning if the daring caption was an attempt at coming out.
Someone commented, “If you say you straight after this ISTG,” which stands for “if you say you straight after this in-joke.” Several commenters on the page share the same sentiment, asking why Billie would pick PRIDE weekend to reveal her s*xuality.
In the end, though, it’s not quite apparent that this is how Billie meant for her statement to be taken. The singer has always been secretive about her personal life, despite her massive stardom.
Many of Billie’s followers were shocked to learn that she was seeing ex-boyfriend Brandon Quentin Adams after watching The World’s a Little Blurry, the documentary about her life during her rise to prominence. There’s little mistaking that “Lost Cause” is about Brandon, whom she mostly portrays as a bum.
Billie’s admirers were confused by the video, in part because she is surrounded by women and is acting in a sexually provocative way, despite the fact that the song appears to be about a prior love. But Billie hasn’t exactly confirmed that she plans to use the video to announce her s*xuality.
