Michelle Yeoh’s Golden Globes Win: Some moments ought to be worn!
Michelle Yeoh’s Golden Globes victory earlier in the week was featured on Jamie Lee Curtis’ new shirt, which she debuted on Instagram on Saturday.
The picture went viral after Yeoh won the award for best actress performance in a motion film, musical, or comedy. Yeoh’s costar enthusiastically responded as her name was called before accepting her trophy for her performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once. Now she proudly wears that exact moment across her chest with the words “friends supporting friends.”
“I’m still stunned that a moment of natural exuberance and joy became some sort of a symbol for women supporting other women,” Curtis wrote as she wore the shirt in a mirror selfie.
“@erin.gallag.her highlighted it with her gorgeous post and word anthem of support, and somehow from Tuesday night to Friday night, it became a T-shirt that was left outside my home with a dozen everything bagels from my @everythingeverywheremovie family,” she continued. “I was COVID sleeping, and today I proudly wear it after my shower.”
“#FRIENDSSUPPORTINGFRIENDS is a wonderful squad objective for 2033,” Curtis concluded her post.
“Thank you, Erin and all who are expanding it and amplifying the message CONGRATULATIONS @michelleyeoh_official, YOU ARE EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE!”
Yeoh, who appeared on the red carpet for the Globe Awards on Tuesday wearing a strapless Armani Privé dress in midnight blue, spoke throughout her speech about the “wonderful journey” and “great fight” it took for her to be there. She won the prize by defeating Lesley Manville, Margot Robbie (Babylon), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Menu), Emma Thompson (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande), and (Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris).
But I believe it was worthwhile, she added. “I recall that until I arrived in Hollywood, it was a dream come true because of this face. When I arrived, I was informed that I was a minority. “I know that’s not conceivable,” I remarked.”
“Then along came the best gift, Everything Everywhere All At Once,” Yeoh continued. And as the broadcast began to play her off, she joked, “Shut up, please. I can beat you up, okay? I’m dead serious.”
She saluted in her final statement, “All the people who have gone before me who resemble me, all the shoulders I stand on, and everyone who is continuing on this road with me. I appreciate your confidence in me.”
The contemporary trend of people wearing their co-stars’ faces on their bodies predates Curtis’ current appearance. Julia Roberts wore a sweater with a mosaic of framed photos of her pal George Clooney just last month when she attended the Kennedy Center Honors.
Clooney’s face was all over the custom-made black Moschino scoop neckline taffeta gown, which Elizabeth Stewart, Roberts’ stylist, revealed on Instagram. She said that Jeremy Scott had ordered it. A black cropped Moschino coat and Chopard hoops earrings completed the ensemble. Keep yourself updated with all the latest news from our website Newswatchlist.com and get all the recent updates.
