Marianos Shooting: Gunfire broke out on Sunday at Mariano’s parking lot in West Town, where a man was shot and killed roughly two weeks prior.

A 31-year-old man was loading groceries into his car in the 2000 block of West Chicago Avenue’s parking lot at 5:40 p.m. when someone drove up in a car and started shooting, according to Chicago police.

According to authorities, the individual was unharmed, and no injuries were noted, although the shooting did cause damage to his vehicle.

Detectives from Area Three were looking, but no one was in custody.

Darian Neal was shot and died on December 19 when he was seated in his vehicle on the store’s rooftop parking lot, according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office and the police.

At about 4:30 p.m., two guys approached his car and started shooting, hitting him in the head, according to the police.

The 37-year-old Neal was brought to Stroger Hospital, where he passed away.

There have been no reported arrests related to the shooting.
