Mark Davis Net Worth

American entrepreneur and sports team owner Mark M. Davis was born on May 18, 1955. He owns the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League (NFL) and serves as its managing general partner. He also owns the Las Vegas Aces of the WNBA.

He is the heir apparent to the Raiders’ fortunes after the death of his father, Al Davis, in 2011. After his father’s passing, Mark and his mother Carol Davis became joint owners of the Raiders, with Mark serving as team president. Davis has a net worth of $1.9 billion as of February 2023.

Mark Davis Net Worth

Mark Davis is a multibillionaire American businessman and professional sports owner. Mark’s father, Al Davis, was the owner of the NFL’s Oakland Raiders. Although the Raiders are now situated in Las Vegas, when Al passed away in 2011 they were still based in Oakland.

Mark Davis has taken over as the Raiders’ primary owner and managing partner. He is also the owner of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces. Mark and his mom Carol own 47% of the Raiders, but due to a clause in their contract, they control the whole team.

Davis is responsible for the day-to-day management of the group. The Oakland Raiders were valued $750 million at the time of his father’s death in 2011. The current estimated value of the Las Vegas Raiders is $6-7 billion.

Mark Davis Actual Property

Some news outlet in September 2021 claimed that Davis was constructing a “Nevada mega-mansion that mimics the angular lines defining his team’s practice facility, headquarters, and Allegiant Stadium.” Mark purchased the 6.32-acre lot and 15,046-square-foot home in the exclusive Ascaya enclave in August 2020 for $6 million.

According to the building permission, the home will have five bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, and cost $14 million. Mark forked over $5.31 million in March 2021 for a condo in Summerlin, Nevada, where the aforementioned property was being constructed.

The 2,800 square foot apartment features two bedrooms and a monthly HOA charge of around $35,000. In January of 2023, Mark sold his apartment for $10 million, $3.5 million less than his original asking price of $13.5 million.

Mark Davis Career

Mark succeeded Al as managing general partner of the Oakland Raiders after Davis and his mother inherited the team. When it comes to the day-to-day operations of the Raiders, he is the man in command. Mark also attends owners’ meetings on the team’s behalf.

Davis started looking for a site to construct a new stadium for the Raiders when the team’s contract with the Oakland Coliseum was about to expire and the venue had various concerns due to its advanced age.

Despite his desire to retain the club in Oakland, he and the owner of the San Diego Chargers, Dean Spanos, announced in February 2015 that they would be working together to build a joint stadium in Carson, California, which is part of Los Angeles County. The Los Angeles Rams’ owner, Stan Kroenke, submitted a competing bid that ultimately won out.

Davis first explored the possibility of building a stadium in Las Vegas in collaboration with Las Vegas Sands Corporation founder, chairman, and CEO Sheldon Adelson; but, after finance was secured, Davis proceeded with the project independently of Adelson. The NFL gave its blessing to the Raiders’ relocation to Las Vegas in March of 2017.

Mark bought the Las Vegas Aces from MGM Resorts International in January 2021, a transaction that was sanctioned by the NBA and WNBA the following February. Davis was a regular season ticket holder even before he bought the team. He signed Becky Hammon in May 2021 to be the Aces’ head coach, and she quickly became the highest-paid coach in the league.
