Johnson was born in Dallas, Texas, on October 10, 1975. He attended Dallas ISD schools up to the second grade when the West Dallas Boys & Girls Club offered him a scholarship to attend Greenhill School. In 1994, Johnson received a diploma from Greenhill School.
