NBA Prospect Brandon Miller Picks Paul George as the GOAT!

Brandon Miller Declares Paul George As His NBA GOAT

One draft hopeful, the best NBA player of all time isn’t the one you’d anticipate.

Before Thursday’s big game, when asked who he thought was the best basketball player, Brandon Miller, a possible lottery pick, didn’t choose LeBron James or Michael Jordan.

Instead, he displayed affection for Clippers centre Paul George.

“I actually don’t think LeBron is the GOAT of basketball,” Miller told Bally Sports’ Brandon Robinson. “My GOAT of basketball is Paul George, I grew up watching him.”

After the comments went viral, Miller received much support from “The Podcast P with Paul George” on Twitter.

The account tweeted, “S/o projected top 3 pick Brandon Miller for his GOAT response.”

The Alabama product has drawn plenty of intrigues ahead of the draft — with some experts comparing the newcomer to George.

Miller, a freshman at Alabama, hit 43 per cent of his field goal attempts during his first year there, including 38.4 from beyond the arc, establishing himself as an excellent scorer and deft ball handler.

Throughout 37 games, he averaged 8.2 rebounds and 18.8 points as the Crimson Tide lost in the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16.

These stats are pretty similar to George’s career averages of 20.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game throughout his 13-year career, during which he was selected to the All-Star game eight times and was named to the All-NBA team six times.

No other Jordan-owned Hornets are anticipated to select Miller with the No. 2 overall pick in the NBA, passing over Scoot Henderson, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Miller shone at a private workout.

But Miller also planned to pay tribute to Jordan, saying that he would dress in black and red at the draft at Barclays Center, just like the Basketball Hall of Famer did for 14 years when playing for the Bulls.

Jordan’s first conversation with the young prospect might be amusing if Miller is interested in Charlotte.
