The overdose of fentanyl and alcohol that claimed the life of comedian Ron Sexton has been officially confirmed. On Monday, the U.S. Sun received confirmation from the Ohio coroner for Hamilton County. The coroner’s office stated, “He died from the combined toxic effects of fentanyl and ethyl alcohol, which means he overdosed,” and revealed that his blood alcohol level was 202.
Sexton’s untimely death in July came as he was in the midst of a tour, with 39 remaining dates. When Sexton didn’t show up for a meeting before his act in Dayton, Ohio, a buddy apparently phoned the cops on him. Eric, Alex, Abigail, Aliah Jim, and Ila are among the five children, and Tracy, his wife, will miss him deeply.
At the time, his family wrote on Facebook, “It is with immense sadness that we let everyone know that Ron Sexton passed away yesterday. He was Donnie Baker to most of you, but Ron and Dad to us.” Most people will remember Sexton for his role as Donnie Baker on “The Bob & Tom Show.”
“Ron was a much-loved colleague and friend, and we will miss him greatly,” “Bob & Tom Show” host Tom Griswold, 70, said as a tribute. “We send our sincerest condolences to his family and friends. He made many, many people happy during his more than 20 years with ‘The Bob & Tom Show,’ and we will remember him with love and gratitude.”
The comedian from Indiana got his start in the industry as a baseball analyst for his high school radio station. Joining “The Bob & Tom Show” in 2005, he quickly gained fame for his impressions of celebrities and his portrayal of the character Donnie Baker.
The coroner informed the media outlet, however, that no longer is a criminal inquiry being conducted into his death because the cause of death had been determined.
