Ryan Carson Death: New York Mourns the Loss of Activist Ryan Carson!

Ryan Carson Death

On Monday, a social justice activist named Ryan Carson was fatally murdered on the streets of Crown Heights. Carson had hoped to make New York a better place via his work. Carson, 32, was a man who, according to many who knew him, made it his mission in life to improve the world.

Dozens of Carson’s loved ones showed up to a park in Bedford-Stuyvesant with candles to honor his memory. About a mile away, near the intersection of Lafayette Avenue and Malcom X Boulevard, is where the longtime government advocate was stabbed, according to the police.

According to reports, Carson and his girlfriend were standing on the sidewalk when the suspect walked up to them and questioned, “What are you looking at?” before repeatedly stabbing Carson in the chest. At Kings County Hospital, Carson’s death was officially confirmed.

“I was absolutely in disbelief,” said Emily Gallagher, a member of the New York Assembly who knew Carson before he entered politics. When mutual acquaintances died from drug overdoses, Gallagher and Carson connected.

Carson advocated for the creation of clean injection sites by walking from New York City to Albany in 2021. Carson managed campaigns for the New York Public Interest Research Group over the past ten years, most recently focusing on recycling and solid waste.

Blair Horner, the director of the New York Public Interest Research Group, stated, “Trying to deal with the unreclaimed bottles and cans that litter New York streets, but he had been involved with lots of projects with us over the years.”

There is no physical description of the perpetrator, sources said CBS New York, but they did say the attacker was acting erratically. Carson’s significant other escaped unharmed. It was a total shock. I’m a regular,” said Bed-Stuy resident Max Sabo. As one person put it, “It’s terrifying.”

According to Gallagher, Carson has been sending out birthday reminders and has a special talent for making people happy and at ease. “If you wanted to talk, he was absolutely always ready to talk, always there for you,” said Gallagher.

“It’s hard when the person that you go to to talk about grief is the one who died.” There have been no arrests made, and the investigation is still underway, according to the police.
