Search Continues For Missing Cyril Girl Athena Brownfield: Two days after Athena Brownfield, 4, was reported missing in Cyril, the search for her is still ongoing.
On Wednesday, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, the FBI, and other volunteers combed Cyril for leads. The 4-year-old girl was reported missing on Tuesday after her 5-year-old sister was discovered unattended by a mailman outside their home on Nebraska Avenue in Caddo County. Search teams searched every inch of the town.
Wednesday, the emergency response team of the Oklahoma Highway Patrol worked with neighborhood volunteers to search. Around properties close to Nebraska Avenue and Third Street, law enforcement also employed drones and search dogs.
“We are finding things we hope might give clues about where she is. We’re still actively looking for her,” Brook Arbeitman, with OSBI, said.
On Wednesday afternoon, the OSBI called off a grid search of the region with volunteer searchers, but law enforcement wasn’t done. OHP searched ponds with boats.
According to OSBI officials, Athena’s parents are in touch with them.
To find any hints pointing them to Athena’s location, investigators said they would continue questioning people and watching the security footage.
Officials from the town of Cyril announced on social media that all trash pickup would be delayed until further notice under the OSBI. Follow Newswatchlist.com for more information. You can also leave your thoughts in the comment section, and don’t forget to bookmark our website.
