Yorkshire Ripper Crime Scene: The YORKSHIRE RIPPER, also known as Peter Sutcliffe (Rot in Purgatory), used the system to escape 13 attacks and murders. He was aware that misogynistic societies view women as disposable and that women who work in the sex industry are much more marginalized.
And he was correct; the Yorkshire Police relied on presumptions and prejudice in their search for the Yorkshire Ripper, which allowed him to attack and murder women for five years without being apprehended. Instead of placing a curfew on the males openly preying on women, police put one on them “for their safety.”
And the same thing has repeatedly occurred, whether we’re talking about Robert Pickton in my hometown of Vancouver or Lonnie David Franklin Jr. in Los Angeles. So, from 1975 to 1980, here is a terrible collection of unwitting police officers fighting against themselves.
